The Capacity Building Program (CB) is funded by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) which receives appropriated funds for Capacity Building for Community Development and Affordable Housing Grants Section 4. The goal of the Capacity Building grant is to increase affiliates' ability to expand the number of families served, increase the number of housing units, improve financial sustainability and build a strong operational foundation. HFHI uses the grant to fund the salary of a high impact staff person at affiliates. The salary amount declines over a three year period.
