Executive Director

The Executive Director provides leadership and vision for the State Office consistent with the overall mission and values set forth by our Board of Directors. He promotes and upholds the covenant with Habitat for Humanity International. In addition, he reports to the Board and is responsible for staff management, internal and external public relations, donor solicitation and recognition, volunteer recruitment and recognition, family selection, budget development and adherence, oversight of the ReStore operations, and ensuring that board policies and goals are implemented by its committees. The Executive Director is a non-voting member of the Board and Executive Committee, and an ad hoc member of all other Committees.

Director of Operations

Deon Hall oversees the daily operations of the Auburn Opelika Habitat for Humanity ReStore, a 40,000-square foot home improvement facility that sells donated/purchased products and houses the Affiliate Support Offices (ASO). He is responsible for store operations, fleet management, safety, and strategic initiatives that support the ReStore's continued growth and success. Since opening its doors in 2012, the ReStore has generated millions of dollars in sales while providing significant financial support to Habitat for Humanity's statewide mission and helping divert thousands of tons of reusable building materials and household goods from local landfills. In his role with the ASO, Deon facilitates real estate transactions, mortgage documentation, property acquisitions/sales, administers statewide purchasing initiatives, manages technology systems, supports insurance and risk management, coordinates disaster relief assets, and provides operational support to Habitat affiliates throughout Alabama.

Resource Development Director

As Resource Development Director, Karen works in coordination with the Executive Director to provide strategic oversight and implementation of the organization’s Resource Development Program. She leads efforts to cultivate and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and partners, ensuring the successful acquisition, tracking, and distribution of grant and loan funding to Habitat affiliates across the state. Karen also oversees compliance and reporting requirements tied to these funds, offering training and technical support to funding recipients to promote accountability and impact. As a member of AAHA’s leadership team, she collaborates across departments to advance all key organizational priorities, including resource development, training and technical support, disaster response, and advocacy and awareness, helping strengthen Alabama Habitat’s mission to build and sustain thriving communities.

Affiliate Support & Communications Manager

As Affiliate Support & Communications Manager, Zach identifies and creates opportunities to grow the capacity of Habitat for Humanity affiliates in Alabama. He assists the Executive Director in the managing of current programs and services offered to affiliates, and explores ways to create new partnerships and programs to expand the reach and growth of the Habitat for Humanity brand. These goals are achieved by following the model of our 5 Pillars of service: resource development, training & technical support, disaster response, and advocacy & awareness. Zach has unique experience reflecting the 5 Pillars with years of employment and volunteerism with a variety of Alabama based non-profits, political organizations, and charitable groups.
