Auburn Opelika HFH: Home dedication
Upcoming Event: Habitat Homes #80 and #81 Dedication Ceremony!
Next Thursday, November 5th, at 9:00 am, we'll be celebrating the completion of Habitat Homes #80 and #81, as well as their respective partner families: the Calloway and Melton families! We'd love for everyone to join us for this special event as we dedicate these Homes to two truly deserving families. This is a major milestone for the Calloway and Melton families, who have worked incredibly hard to come to this point, and we are over the moon to be celebrating with them!
We go through a process every year of picking qualified local families to build homes for. We have certain criteria that these families have to meet to become a Habitat Homeowner. First and foremost, families must attend our annual interest meeting and turn in an application. After being chosen, our partner families work hard to save for a down payment, volunteer 500 hours helping on other homes and their own, and complete first-time homeownership and financial literacy classes with our partner, the PRF Institute. They then make a no-interest mortgage payment that is recycled to help build more homes.
We are also incredibly grateful for our many community sponsors and volunteers who helped make this project possible!
Thank you to Stone Martin Builders, The City of Opelika, Al - City Government, and East Alabama Health for your sponsoring and immense support of these projects!
Thank you to Stone Martin Builders Team and Trade Professionals for your immeasurable support of this ministry! Stone Martin Builders has a long history of supporting Habitat through volunteering, on-site leadership, and hands-on construction support. Their leadership, construction expertise, and willingness to step in and guide this process has played a critical role in moving these projects forward. Stone Martin Builders are also a national award-winning homebuilder, and an incredibly trustworthy corporate citizen, based in Opelika, AL. Thank you, Stone Martin Builders, for supporting affordable homeownership in our shared community!
Thank you to the City of Opelika for your support of this project and ministry, as well as your support for each of the Homes we build! The City of Opelika works hard to make affordable housing a reality for many Opelika citizens, and their support of AOHFH, the Fuller Center for Housing, the PRF Institute, and more perfectly showcases this dedication. Thank you Mayor Eddie Smith, Council President George Allen and Opelika City Council, City Manager Joey Motley and all of the city departments and their leaders. You all help make it happen.
Thank you to East Alabama Health for your partnership as well! East Alabama Health has been a AOHFH Community Partner for over 30 years now and continues to sponsor Homes for hard-working East Alabama Health employees.
Thank you again to everyone who has helped make these Homes a reality.
Together we build homes, community, and hope!
